Social/emotional support for students at McKinley Elem. which will include: o Informal visits in the specified “dog therapy area” during recess times o Class visit scheduled with specific teachers o “Earned” visit with a dog for desired behaviors o Scheduled “stress reduction” visits coordinated with the school counselor.

We have been given the opportunity to attend (at a discount), a Pet CPR/First Aid class given by Chris Ashton from Enlighten Dogs. The cost is $65.00/person (payment at the time of the class to Enlighten Dogs.) Class size limited to 15 attendees.

Wonderful opportunity to teach young children the importance of the human/animal bond and what our Therapy Dogs do to help others. This includes a short presentation to about 25 kids ages 6-13 years, with plenty of time for petting and interacting.
